The incident took place in Roslyn Heights around 12:30 a.m., Friday, July 22.
According to detectives, a man and a woman, both 40 years old, were on Hillside Avenue when a black-colored Honda Accord drove up.
Three unknown men exited the car and approached the couple. The driver who was holding a small black knife threatened the victims and demanded their personal property, Nassau County Police said.
A second man grabbed the man's right arm and removed the victim’s property and ripped the cellular telephone from the woman's hand, police said.
The third man grabbed the man's left arm as the second suspect removed more personal property, police added.
All three subjects got back into the vehicle and fled the scene westbound on Hillside Avenue and then southbound on Mineola Avenue, police said.
Police said the items stolen included a watch, a white gold colored bracelet, an iPhone 12, and a wallet containing credit cards and miscellaneous personal papers.
No injuries were reported.
One of the suspects was described as being 5-foot-8, wearing a light gray-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and a black-colored mask.
The other suspects are described as having a thin build and one is described as having a heavy or stocky build.
